Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah severely condemned CPN-UML President KP Sharma Oli in a harsh Facebook post, accusing him of involvement in the Giribandhu tea estate land fraud case and calling for the return of the victim's bail money.

Shah's anger also stems from the government's non-cooperation in the Kathmandu Metropolitan City's efforts to expand New Road's footpath area. The Divisional Road Office, under the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, has filed a complaint about the Metropolitan Corporation's demolition of the road pitch.

Shah connected this matter to UML President Oli in his Facebook post, pointing out that with Raghubir Mahaseth of CPN-UML as the Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Transport. Shah accused them of diverting attention from a 10,000 crore scandal by focusing on rebuilding a footpath in New Road, using the state's resources. Shah advised them to conceal their actions and divert the public's attention.

Shah also suggested that Oli to use his power to build Kathmandu's Ring Road and the Butwal-Chitwan section road instead of interfering with the New Road project.
