Nepal's Deputy Prime Minister highlights initiatives to simplify land acquisition and leasing for foreign investors

Ravi Lamichhane, Nepal's Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, delivered a compelling message to international investors at the current investment conference, guaranteeing them a safe and encouraging atmosphere.

"We understand the challenges faced by investors," Minister Lamichhane said during a program on Monday. "The government is actively working on solutions, and we welcome foreign capital with open arms."

Minister Lamichhane underscored Nepal's wide-ranging investment prospects and stressed the government's dedication to safeguarding investors. He highlighted ongoing initiatives to simplify land acquisition and leasing, which have historically posed challenges for investors.

He elaborated, 'We have addressed intricate matters such as land assessment, procurement, and leasing,' and added, 'Furthermore, the recent legislation streamlines processes in areas like forestry, facilitating a more straightforward navigation of the system.' Minister Lamichhane particularly urged foreign investors to explore Nepal's opportunities in tourism, electricity, information technology (IT), and agriculture.

This concerted effort to attract foreign investment comes as Nepal seeks to accelerate economic growth. The investment conference serves as a platform to showcase key projects across various sectors and foster partnerships between domestic and international stakeholders.
