A delegation from the Non-Resident Nepali Association met with Labor, Employment, and Social Security Minister Dol Prasad Aryal at the ministry's office.
During the meeting, Association President Dr. KC informed that Kuwait has granted amnesty to migrant workers who are residing unlawfully.
Dr. KC took advantage of the opportunity to request assistance in repatriating Nepali workers who were unlawfully living in Kuwait.
The association also urged for the appropriate use of the labor welfare fund and the involvement of non-resident Nepalese associations in the Ministry's policy-making processes. They also demanded that labor permits be expanded to Iraq, as well as incentives for remittance senders who use legitimate channels.
The Association vowed to collaborate with the Ministry to facilitate foreign workers' enrollment in the social security fund, construct vocational training centers across all seven provinces, and promote the development of skilled labor.
Women Vice President Rojina pradhan Rai highlighted the necessity of enabling female workers to pursue international employment safely.
Minister Aryal told the association that the Ministry is committed to working with the Association to better serve the needs of workers. In response, Minister Aryal emphasized the Ministry's willingness to collaborate with the Association to improve the welfare of Nepali workers.
