Nepal Volleyball Association Announces Inaugural U-19 Championship with Generous Rewards

The inaugural Sahana Pradhan U-19 women's and men's volleyball championship is set to take place from June 23rd to 29th. Organized by the Sahana Pradhan Institute in collaboration with the Nepal Volleyball Association, the tournament will feature teams from all seven provinces of Nepal.

During a press conference held on Wednesday, key details about the competition were revealed. Jitendra Bahadur Chand, the president of the volleyball association, confirmed that preparations are well underway.

The winners of both the women's and men's tournaments will receive a cash prize of Rs. 3 lakh (300,000 Nepali rupees), while the runners-up and third-place finishers will be awarded Rs. 2 lakh and Rs. 1 lakh, respectively. Additionally, the best players from each category will receive Rs. 25,000, and individual category winners will get Rs. 10,000.

Chand informed that the upcoming championship would serve as a platform for selecting players for the U-19 national volleyball teams.

An agreement was signed between Ramkumari Jhankri, the former minister and president of the Sahana Pradhan Institute, and Chand, representing the volleyball association.

The total estimated cost of organizing the event is around Rs. 80 lakh, with plans in place to secure financial support for the competition's management.
