The Netherlands have named their 15-man squad for next month's ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024, with a couple of experienced names missing out as selectors opt for some fresh faces.

Veteran all-rounder Roelof van der Merwe and key batter Colin Ackermann have been omitted, replaced by the more youthful choices of left-arm spinner Tim Pringle and hard-hitting opener Michael Levitt.

Levitt, 23, earned his World Cup call-up after a blistering century against Namibia in February, smashing 135 from just 62 balls including 11 fours and 10 sixes in a T20I tri-series in Nepal.

Wicketkeeper-batter Scott Edwards will captain the side once again, with star all-rounder Bas de Leede among the key players for the Dutch. They face a tough group featuring South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal.

Their first match is against Nepal on June 4 at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas. The Netherlands upset South Africa in one of two memorable Super 12 victories at the last T20 World Cup and will be hoping for more giant-killing acts.

"We have a well-balanced team that can perform in the conditions against our opposition," said head coach Ryan Cook. "Players have trained well and the ProSeries showed the growing depth in Dutch cricket."

Netherlands Squad: Scott Edwards (c/wk), Aryan Dutt, Bas de Leede, Daniel Doram, Fred Klaassen, Logan van Beek, Max O'Dowd, Michael Levitt, Paul van Meekeren, Sybrand Engelbrecht, Teja Nidamanuru, Tim Pringle, Vikram Singh, Viv Kingma, Wesley Barresi.
